From Science to the Supper Table

The "Why" Behind the Squad

I’ve always believed that the kitchen is the heart of the home. I love how a cozy meal draws people together and provides comfort and a reset after a busy day.

For many of us, feeding our families has become the source of much stress.

As a mother of two, I get it! I understand the "5:00 PM scramble."

As a dietitian, I saw the challenge of wanting to provide nourishing, high-quality meals while juggling a career and the whirlwind of extracurriculars.

I see a gap between knowing what our families should eat and having the capacity and time to make it happen.

So, I created The Supper Squad.

We aren't just a meal service; we are your partners in reclaiming the peace of your evening.

My team of home cooks brings the calm back to your kitchen by handling the logistics, the cooking, and the cleanup, so you can focus on what matters most.

Hi, I'm Amy Marshall!

Registered Dietitian | Private Cook | Winnipeg Mom

My journey to your kitchen began in my childhood home, where I watched the matriarchs of my family turn simple ingredients into memories. As a teen, my after-school downtime was watching the Food Network. I was fascinated by the art, skill, and science of creating the perfect recipe.

That passion led me to University, where I found my niche in Nutritional Sciences. I fell in love with the fascinating intersection of human physiology, food science, and professional preparation. During my studies, I cherished my time in an apron, working in commercial kitchens, honing the skills needed to cook delicious food at scale without losing that "home-cooked" soul.

In my years as a registered dietitian, I’ve supported people with incredibly diverse and complex needs. I’ve learned that nutrition is about finding ways to nourish your body that are both manageable and enjoyable.

Even with my background, cooking for my own family was a learning curve! It taught me that science and cooking skills don't make dinner, systems do!

I’ve combined sixteen years of clinical nutrition expertise, culinary training, and the lived experience of a busy mom to build The Supper Squad. I use every bit of that experience to support families who are overwhelmed by the demands of the kitchen.

You deserve a healthy home and a calm evening. We’re here to make sure you have both.

I have been surrounded by homegrown, quality foods my whole life. Growing up on an organic vegetable farm gave me not only a deep appreciation for whole foods but also hands-on experience in how to cook with them. Much of what I know about cooking comes from my mom and brother, who are both incredible chefs and my biggest inspirations in the kitchen.

I love exploring new recipes, reimagining classic dishes, and tailoring menus to fit the unique tastes and dietary needs of my clients. Cooking with whole, high-quality ingredients is at the heart of what I do, and I enjoy getting creative to craft meals that are both nourishing and flavorful. My goal is to bring a personalized touch to every plate, making mealtime effortless and enjoyable so you can savor every bite without the stress of cooking.

For me, food is more than just sustenance—it’s an experience, a way to bring people together, and an opportunity to create something truly special. I look forward to sharing my love of cooking with you and creating meals that bring comfort, joy, and connection to your table.

Squad Member: Renée

Cooking and food have been an integral part of my life since I was very small. Growing up in a home filled with homemade meals, I saw the power that a simple bowl of stew or lasagne can have. This is something I have held on to and try to keep up in my own family life.

After working full time and being a mom to a young toddler, I have experienced the scramble to get meals on the table that are nourishing and delicious. Now, as a member of the Supper Squad, I hope I can bring this to your family!

Some meals that I enjoy preparing include Indian curries, Japanese cuisine, and anything that my toddler will hopefully eat! Outside of cooking, I am a passionate gardener, hiker, and dog walker. I love living in St James and am always eager to continue community building with people and families in my area.

I grew up in my family’s restaurant, where I learned to cook at an early age and developed a deep appreciation for bringing people together around good food. The kitchen has always felt like home to me, a place of creativity, connection, and comfort.

My love of food eventually led me to pursue a Bachelor of Food Science and Health Science, and I spent 16 years working as a Quality Manager in a plant-based food manufacturing facility. That experience gave me a strong foundation in nutrition, food safety, and the science behind creating balanced, nourishing meals.

At home, you’ll usually find me in my large garden, growing vegetables, herbs, and flowers that inspire fresh, seasonal meals. I love experimenting with new recipes and exploring flavours from around the world. I’m especially passionate about incorporating more plant-based proteins into everyday cooking in ways that feel satisfying and approachable for families.

As a busy parent of two kids in sports, I understand how hectic family life can be. I love supporting families by preparing wholesome, home-cooked meals that make evenings easier and give everyone more time to sit down and enjoy food together.

I look forward to cooking for you!
